Facts:

Rachel Carson was a marine biologist.

Well known for her book Silent Spring wich warned about chemical pesticides such as DDT.

Her work was influential in the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1980
